About Us

Kimberly Karner Moore, MPT - Executive Director and Physical Therapist

First and foremost, I am a mother of two boys and have been a pediatric physical therapist since 1999. Being a parent of a child with special needs has provided me with unique insight not all therapists can provide. Driven by providing quality care and empowering families with the resources they need to help their child be their best selves is my passion. Having graduated in 1998 with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy and two undergraduate degrees in 1996 as an All-WAC D1 scholar athlete would have typically drawn most towards sports related rehab but I knew what I was meant to do the instant I started my last internship at California Children's Services in 1999. Having to work hard toward focused goals is something that has driven my life but the empathy and caring I have gained as a mother and therapist is what I am most proud of.

Working with infants and children with special needs and seeing them makes strides is what I find most rewarding. Each child is unique in their own way and working with their strengths to help with their areas of need is incredibly fulfilling. I also have a special place in my heart for athletes or kids that want to learn or be better at sports too. I have been blessed with decades of fulfilling years of pediatric experience in various settings treating newborns to young adults. Experience in multiple settings from outpatient, private practice, inpatient/hospital, and early intervention in home care has provided me with a wide range of amazing children and families I have encountered. Experienced with IFSP, IEP, 504 plans as a therapist and also as a parent allows me to understand what difficulties a child, and families, may experience in the future or are currently experiencing. Early identification and addressing deficits can help prevent or minimize some of the future struggles and optimize functionality in the school setting but also in the community and life in general.
My experience in being part of a team for High Risk Infant Follow up clinics and High Mobility Evaluations for specialty equipment like walkers and wheelchairs has given me insight on additional needs a child may have. Being part of regional pediatric team which allows collaboration with pediatric specialists and partnering for projects for preventative care in the Northern Californian region has opened up resources and points of view from seasoned therapists, allowing me to have a more well rounded viewpoint when working with children and families. I enjoy collaborating with doctors and other specialty therapists such as speech and occupational therapists and understand the importance of working as a team. However, the most important part of the team other than the child is the parent or caregiver and together we can watch your child flourish and improve in their areas of need.

When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family and friends. Other hobbies I enjoy are reading, baking, gardening, and learning Japanese :)
